I've always raised my snakes giving them some freedom of choice within reason and I allow them to pick and choose their own feeders as babies and young juveniles. These are some of my baby Corn Snakes that I produced this past year and I don't often do feeding videos but baby snakes are so funny and cute with their personalities :)

My snakes have perfect conditions in their enclosures for proper sheds but since they are outdoors so much in the spring and summer their skin gets dryer so naturally their sheds are thicker and less hydrated. It's amazing the lengths some of us go to to try and make our snakes more content and happier even to a point of them controlling our actions to give them a better quality of life. :) They do appreciate the help in most cases and especially when they are spoiled like all of mine are and they know how to get what they want ROFL It's pretty bad when your snakes know once they get their shed cleared off their head if they sit around it will bug you so bad you have to help them finish their shed which almost EVERY snake I've raised does this.

Making this video to show people how amazing snakes are that are handled and socialized just like anyone's dogs or cats they make awesome pets and companions. I have a message in this video for EVERYONE that keeps snakes and raises them and loves having them, about our future so PLEASE watch the entire video !!!! Thank You :)

Song Title: Sneaky

Snakes are VERY curious animals and that natural curiosity is often mistaken by people that don't understand snakes as an aggressive action toward someone. Snakes in the wild will normally try to flee and get away from people not approach them !! If a snake is coming toward you odds are the snake is just curious about who you are and what you are doing !!! This is Jade, my adult female Coastal Carpet Python being her usual prissy curious self. Snakes are very amazing animals especially if they are handled and socialized and my snakes all enjoy human interaction and follow me constantly when we're outdoors. In reference to Jade, she has a cute nickname that everyone calls her now (Miss Prissy Pants) because she is so particular and prissy and dainty acting for a snake LOL Jade actually has to have her own set of tongs because she refuses to accept her feeders from any other set of tongs that aren't hers :)

I had to post this after Tawny came out of the plastic tote and robbed one of Krystl's mice thawed out on my daybed on a paper plate and a paper towel LOL That was a first I'd never had a snake literally come out of the feeding tote and help herself to dinner ROFL Raising snakes and caring for them and handling them and working with them on a daily basis is a wonderful experience and learning about them is just as rewarding for the people that fear snakes or don't really know much about them :)

My Boa Constrictors top cage level covers the entire picture window and it's their floor they use to bask in the sun.
Great Article And One WELL WORTH Reading !!!

So many people believe that Reptiles (snakes) don't have any form of intelligence and aren't capable of displaying emotions in any form and when it comes down to it they really aren't all that much more different than people are they know what they like and what they don't like.
Nosey, my female Argentine Boa has a fit if I set anything on top of their upper cage level which is their sun basking cage level and she will sit and stare at it and hiss at it until I remove it off the top of their upper cage levels roof. This isn't a rare occurrence she displays this same behavior every time I set something on top of their cage.
Can snakes have OCD? It would seem so that Nosey displays Obsessive Compulsive Disorder LOL

My cat and snakes developed their relationship out of curiosity about each other and my cat and some of my snakes have been pals for 13 years and I didn't force them into this relationship so NEVER force any two animals of uncommon species together the results can be devastating !! This relationship took many years to develop between my cat and snakes !! The outdoors scenes were filmed the end of this past summer still too cold for the snakes outdoors this year.

My snakes are VERY social animals and some of them love to sit with me for hours watching TV. My Daughter was visiting when I had Faide out (my male 8 foot Dumeril's Ground Boa) and very uncommon for him, he got all cranky because I kept distracting him while he was watching TV. Snakes are VERY curious animals and I've found most of mine love watching the computer monitor as well as my television.

The snake in this video is Sunny, my Lemon Pastel Ball Python and she is 4 years old.

For the people that don't know how snakes copulate (breed) I've made this educational video showing how the females and males court each other for breeding.

Tawny and Krystl produced two awesome clutches for me this year for a total of 50 eggs in my incubators so I felt it was time for them to have some freedom to exercise outdoors and to enjoy their environment :) In spite of the fact that they are VERY active and very curious snakes LOL
So many people still aren't aware that snakes can hear and in this video you will see both snakes freeze at exactly the same time when a small motorcycle passed the yard out on the road about 200 yards from where the snakes were. It was amazing to see how quick they both stopped moving at exactly the same time and went into defensive posture.

I've had several request to make another video on this topic in more detail so this is one that was made upon request :)
I've used regular heating pads instead of reptile heating pads/mats for years and I would never go back to those because they burn out too fast and concentrate all of the intense heat in one small area and for what they cost they don't last very long. I prefer my heat for belly heat to be spread out over a larger area. You HAVE TO use the heating pads that DO NOT have the Auto Shutoff Function

There are so many people really are poorly educated about snakes and it's really a sad thing that people refuse to learn more about them because snakes make just as great a pet as any dog or cat does. So many feel that snakes don't have feelings and aren't capable of displaying any form of emotions which is inaccurate !! It depends on the time their handler is willing to invest with their snakes.
These are my two big Argentine Boas showing me some love and appreciation for installing a double fan in the window across from their enclosure to help keep them cooled down as they don't like high temps nor high humidity. They are not like the common boas !!
Nosey (female) Grumpy (male) both are 13 years old at 12+ feet in length and each weighs 100+ pounds and they are awesome companions and very calm social snakes.

Babies still leaving their eggs and I had a request for a video of the ones that have completely hatched from a good friend. Baby snakes are so funny and adorable have to respect how brave and how silly they act :)

All of my snakes have been hook trained since they were babies and it's a great way to prevent those accidental feeding bites !!! It doesn't take long to hook train a snake and it's harmless to them and they learn to be able to distinguish between a hand offering them a meal or a hand reaching in to clean their enclosure or pick them up. Most bites snake owners do get are usually associate with feeding strikes and bites and you can prevent that from happening !!! Jade is my female Coastal Carpet Python in this video and she has a VERY strong feeding aggression that I have to keep in check when working with her and she had just eaten three days prior to making this video to show her natural feeding aggression. Snakes are capable of learning because they are creatures of habit and they do associate things with their handler if taught to know the difference !! Jade and Chewy my two amazing Coastal Carpet Pythons both came from BHB REPTILES !

Snakes are evasive creatures and prefer to not have confrontations with humans and what so many consider aggressive behavior in a snake is merely their natural curiosity. SUNNY My Pastel Ball Python 3 years old :)

Snakes are VERY curious animals and all of my enclosures are set up so my snakes can see all of the daily activities going on around them in my house. Nosey and Grumpy love their top cage level which was built for them just for a basking floor so they can soak in the sun from my big picture window. Their enclosure in total consist of 28 feet of floor space including their 13 foot outdoor glass enclosure. Nosey and Grumpy kept stalking me all day trying to get my attention ROFL

All of my snakes are VERY social animals through lots of time invested handling them and working with them through the years and snakes make just as great a pet as dogs and cats do and in some cases even better pets to raise because their maintenance levels are lower but it still takes dedication to provide them with ALL their needs so they are content animals instead of defensive and nasty tempered animals !! Than again, the way ANY animal turns out temperament and personality wise is based on their care program and their handlers ability to be totally responsible for the animals and their requirements :) These are my two older adult Ball Pythons, Ginger and Tipr enjoying the outdoors.

http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/Snake... To work with big constrictor snakes you have to become one with the snake !!! You have to show complete trust in each other, respect each other, learn the boundaries that both the snake and handler have at ALL times with each other, learn to interpret and read the snakes body language and always remain calm and patient when handling a big snake !!! For some it comes natural and for others it takes LOTS of years of experience to become one with the snake !!! The snake in this video is Chewy, he came from Brian Barczyk at BHB Reptiles and Chewy is an 11 foot male Coastal Carpet Python and a VERY social snake !!

New brighter video of my newest corn snake babies and Krystl's clutch started pipping in the middle of the night last night so I'm so glad she will have a clutch this year since she lost hers last year :( I will add videos as her clutch leaves their eggs :o)
Krystll's clutch will be even brighter than the clutch in this video because she is a snow corn snake that is so white she appears silver and these new babies have the same father that the clutch in this video have.
