I went to Kobe for the last few days of my Out There Adventure and whilst I was there I managed to attend yet another Japanese Top League match where the Kobelco Steelers played Yamaha Jubilo. This match was an absolute blowout, Kobelco Steelers beat Yamaha 99-17.

A few days prior to the match, I was able to attend a Kobelco Steelers training session where I caught up with Andy Ellis and Dan Carter. It was the highlight of my entire 6 weeks away to see Dan again, as the last time I saw him was in London in 2015.

Catching up with Andy and Dan, seeing the match was probably the biggest highlight of my 6 weeks around the world, and I’m glad it was the last thing before I went back to Australia that turned out to be the best thing.

Here’s the first vlog of my 3 day getaway to Christchurch, New Zealand!

I flew out of the Gold Coast Airport instead of Brisbane due to the price - I managed to get a flight for $100 whereas in Brisbane it would be double that - so it’s worthwhile to shop around.

Only catch is from my house, it’s a 4 hour commute on Public Transportation (when it works!) so it can be a long day! I made an adventure out of it and stopped at Surfers Paradise for a quick lunch - but it was good to document my travel day to Christchurch.

These vlogs coming out aren’t my best work - I know. A lot of distractions with family not wanting to be on camera as well as needing to get into the routine like I did in Japan. I will try my best next vlogs to make it better.

Whilst I was in Hiroshima I decided on a few days off to catch up on vlogs and have a bit of R&R after I had been sick for a good chunk of my Japan adventure.

Whilst I was there I shot discreetly my time in a Japanese supermarket just to show the difference compared to a typical Australian or New Zealander supermarket.

I definitely recommend visiting one as not only are they a great way to save money when travelling on a budget, it’s a great way to learn on typical Japanese groceries and some shopping ideas to use when in Japan.

Back for another year travelling for rugby!

I headed to Christchurch to see the Crusaders take on the Chiefs, but when I edited this video it made me see in hindsight just what a great place Christchurch is.

5 days after I left Christchurch, there was a terrorist attack that killed 51 people. It actually shook me so much because of several reasons but, to be honest, what I saw the week before, like I do today is a very resilient community.

Going to the rugby is what makes Christchurch so great, the die hard Crusaders fans who turn up to the games and of course, the team itself who are champions on and off the pitch.

I think this is the long awaited vlog, I know this happened in November 2018, I know it could of come out earlier but.... this is that time I WENT TO THE ALL BLACKS GAME IN JAPAN!!!!

This game was amazing for so many reasons, not just because Japan played so well against the All Blacks but also, I swear that Japanese sports fans are the most passionate fans I’ve ever come across and it seems like such a complete contrast to their very reserved culture.

Honestly, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever experienced in my rugby travels and I seriously love the atmosphere it brings to the game.

If I was asked where would I love to see the All Blacks play, England at Twickenham would be up there to see them, Israel is a hopeful dream, but Japan seriously gives anyone and everyone a run for their money!
